A different World

This is ultimately one of my favorite songs right now. I just believe that what he sings about is so true. When I think about being a kid there were so many things that we got away with that I am not so sure I would let my kids do now. Also I would watch tv on occasion but nothing like my kids want to do right now. They never go out and play , it is all nintendo and t.v. When I was younger I would disappear on my bike with my friends and we would be gone for hours. I would pop into the house to get food and that was it. Seat belts were important but not always stressed by all parents. I learned to drive on dusty back roads around the house. Unfortunately where i live everything pretty much is closed on Sunday!
Seriously, I just love this song and thought I would share.

If we could go back to your child-hood you would'nt even be allowed
to move ! Great job surviving the
metal playgrounds at school and parks.

Love it!! My favorite was riding in the back of pickup trucks. I honestly feel sorry for my kids. They have to listen to crappy music - not the beautiful 80's music I got to listen to - and they never go outside! I was always outside. Yeah - those were the good old days.

I wanted to visit and get to know you a little. This is a great song! It definitely was a different world and kids today just don't know what they're missing.
However, I do have a lot of homeschooling friends who seriously try to give their kids the opportunity to live in that kind of world as much as possible!
